The bigger, the better

Before starting this blog I thought I knew my way with fashion. That was one of the reasons for starting the blog... Well... looking back now... I didn't. I'm not trying to say that now I know my way, but the fact I've improved a lot is a certainty.

Let's take as example the statement necklace trend. Some say it's not a trend anymore, others say it will never fade as a trend, I say... give me one and I will show you it goes even with pajamas.

Of course, if I look back more than two years ago, when I didn't have a fashion blog, if you gave me a necklace like the one I'm wearing in the pictures, I wouldn't have known what to do with it. Maybe I would have sad it goes perfectly with a black party dress. Typical, right?

Nowadays, I'm not saying that it doesn't go with a black dress, because that would be a lie, but I'm telling you also it goes perfectly with simple t-shirts and denim. At least this is what I see and I'm really expecting you to tell me what you see.

I liked the blue stoned necklace from the first moment I laied my eyes on Borealy. When I received it and saw it for real, it became pure love. It seems to me, I'm not the only romanian fashion blogger in love with Borealy jewelry and from reactions I got on Instagram and Facebook I understood that neither you remained impassibile when seeing the blue beauty.

Out of the ordinary with Borealy Jewelry

Îmi place să cred că niciodată nu am fost o fată comună... nici prin aspect şi nici prin gândire...
Cu toate acestea, de când am început blogul simt că am evoluat foarte mult din ambele puncte de vedere: pe de o parte datorită accesului la atât de multe bloguri de stil şi imagine (uitaţi-vă şi voi la blogeriţele românce din fotografiile de mai jos), pe de altă parte datorită interacţiunii cu VOI, cei care mă citiţi, şi care sunteţi mereu avizi de lucruri spectaculoase şi interesante...
Dacă aceste lucruri nu ar fi 100% adevărate, eu nu v-aş scrie azi acest articol despre bijuteriile Borealy.

Este multă muncă în spatele unui blog, dar în momentele când ajung să scriu şi să port lucruri atât de frumoase de la Ray-Ban, de la Zara, de la Borealy... munca devine o plăcere şi îmi dau seama cât de norocoasă sunt eu. Am să vă rog ca niciodată să nu mă invidiaţi, oricare din voi puteţi face acest lucru, nu trebuie decât să vă doriţi cu adevărat. ♥

Bănuiesc că v-aţi dat seama deja ce au în comun toate fetele superbe din imaginile de mai jos... bineînţeles, bijuteriile Borealy. Sunt incredibil de frumoase şi vă spun cu sinceritate că simt fluturi în stomac când mă gândesc că în curând o să am plăcerea să port această minunăţie de colier... nu ştiu de ce, dar când îl văd îmi amintesc de Heart of the Ocean, din Titanic.

Cea mai recentă colecţie de bijuterii Borealy se numeşte Exqusite Dantelle şi o are ca vedetă pe Larisa Costea, o blogeriţă româncă pe care am descoperit-o exact cu această ocazie şi pe care vă recomand să o vizitaţi, exact aşa cum vă recomand să le vizitaţi pe toate fetele din fotografii.

În final vreau să vă mai spun că în magazinul online Borealy nu găsim doar bijuterii, ci şi o gamă variată de cadouri: cadouri pentru femei, cadouri pentru bărbaţi, cadouri de Paşte... şi... ATENŢIE, apropo de Paşte, ştiu din propria experienţă că intru în pană de idei când vine vorba de cadoul pentru naşi, aşa că vă dau un pont: Borealy a pregătit coşurile de Paşte. Sunt foarte variate şi cred că pot constitui o surpriză foarte plăcută pentru părinţii voştri spirituali.

Sper că v-a plăcut articolul meu, aştept părerile voastre, care mă ajută foarte mult să înţeleg ce şi cum gândiţi vis-a-vis de tot ceea ce vă prezint aici pe blog. Promit că revin cu un shooting de excepţie.

You always have a choice!

Whenever we enroll in a contest, we enroll with the hope of winning.  
Today, for example, is the extraction in a contest in which I could win a Mini Cooper or free shoes for the next 10 years. Obviously there is a part of me that hopes to win and it's perfectly normal because we all need such free pleasures. And no matter how many contests I'll attend, I'll never lose hope that maybe at some point I will win. Again ... perfectly normal ... hope dies last. 

What do you think I'll do if I don't win? The options are: 
1. I will accelerate the ambition engine to work harder so that I gain more and then buy that car I'm craving for... 
2. I waste time investigating whether the person who won had this right, because if it turns out she didn't have it there are 0.01 more chances for me to win. 
3. I accept someone else was lucky and I move on with my head up, waiting for another chance at the next contest ... ultimately I can't lose something I've never had. 

Now, I'm asking... What is the option that you think I'd choose? What is the option that you would choose?

Made in Romania

Today I would like to talk to you about a new project I intend to initiate. The project will be called Made in Romania and will involve promoting pieces of clothing/shoes/accessories, made ​​by talented Romanian designers, who are at the beginning and don't benefit of an intense promotion in the media, yet. I intend to do an article like this at least once a month.

The idea for this project emerged due to several factors. One of them is represented by the frequent discussions on the blog about wearing authentic pieces, possibly Romanian, instead of imitation ones (that doesn't mean I won't wear such pieces anymore), another factor is a proposal I got from Cătălina to wear one of her creations, another factor is my own experience in this regard and the fact that I understand more than anyone the need for promotion.
The last factor is the desire to increase the blog and how else than coming in front of you with interesting and useful ideas.

The pilot episode of Made in Romania series will be released on February 24th ... so stay tuned ...

Concluziile zilelor de tăcere...

Trebuie să încerci înainte să renunţi...
Nu poți să fii într-o relație de prietenie cu cineva care îți este în subordine, vei înceta să mai fii obiectiv și vei avea tendința să faci mai des concesii... asta nu înseamnă că nu poţi fi într-o relaţie decentă...
Perioadele de criză au tendința să scoată din noi fețe despre care poate nu am fi crezut vreodată că există...
Vorbitul pe la colţuri nu face cinste nimănui...
Există monştri la crearea cărora ai contribuit şi tu...
Unele lucruri trebuie să rămână nerezolvate... avem nevoie de puţină dramă în viaţă...
Vorbele nu au nicio valoare dacă nu sunt susţinute de fapte...
Unele persoane au capacitatea fantastică să susţină discursuri măreţe despre cinste şi corectitudine, dar care din păcate sunt doar discursuri...
Nu poţi fi pe placul tuturor oamenilor din jurul tău şi nici nu trebuie să încerci vreodată acest lucru...
Singura persoană pe care trebuie să o mulţumeşti în viaţă şi de care trebuie să-ţi fie teamă eşti... TU...
Viaţa este o aventură şi trebuie trăită ca atare... nu de alta, dar avem una singură...
Anul 2013 a fost cel mai greu, cel mai intens și mai calitativ an pe care l-am trăit, din toţi cei aproape 30 pe care i-am adunat până acum... sper să nu mă grăbesc cu această afirmație, pentru că mai e ceva până la finele lui...

P.S. Imaginile fac parte din aceeaşi serie, cu acestea. Mi-au plăcut foarte mult şi nu am vrut să le las nepublicate.

Things need to be told...

În viaţă, trecem prin experienţe, despre care rămânem cu impresia că parcă au rămas nerezolvate...
Timpul le "rezolvă" cumva... în sensul că ne ajută să le depozităm undeva printr-un sertar al minţii pe care îl închidem cu cheia, însă... cheia ne rămâne permanent ataşată la breloc... if you know what I mean...

Cum tratează fiecare din noi aceste situaţii, aşa-zis nerezolvate, depinde de la caz la caz şi de-a lungul timpului chiar am realizat că unele lucruri chiar e mai bine aşa... să rămână nerezolvate...
Cu toate acestea chiar cred că este foarte important să nu ne mințim totuși. DEMONII RĂMÂN DEMONI şi mai devreme sau mai târziu vor avea tendinţa să se întoarcă împotriva noastră.

Da ştiu... sunt enigmatică... but I have a point and my point is... experienţele care au rezolvare trebuie rezolvate. Sertarul trebuie golit pentru a putea fi folosit ca depozitar pentru alte experienţe frumoase.
În această ordine de idei... vă încurajez să aveţi COJONES (cea mai bună traducere pe care o puteam găsi), SĂ SPUNEŢI LUCRURILOR PE NUME în direcţia rezolvării lor căci... apropo-urile nu rezolvă nimic, iar supoziţiile, de cele mai multe ori eronate, vă vor adânci în abisul lor și VĂ VOR CONSUMA până la ultima răsuflare...

Disclaimer: sfaturile mele nu trebuie luate cu titlu definitoriu şi nu voi accepta să fiu trasă la răspundere pentru consecinţele aplicării acestora în viaţa nimănui. Cu toate acestea ele (sfaturile) descriu best practice-ul existenţei mele, pe care aş îndrăzni să-l cataloghez... cel puţin complicat, dacă nu chiar păţit. Am zis!

That skirt...

I remember 4 months ago, when I bought this skirt, I was very enthusiastic about it. I had another skirt in mind and I wanted badly to create an outfit with a similar one, because I surely wasn't going to pay 481 euros on that one. What could possible justify such a huge price?

Once again I find myself promoting the idea that style and sense of fashion have nothing to do with money. Would you believe me if I told you my skirt was only 5 euros (bought at 50% off)?

Now that you know it cost so little, do you see me differently, do you think less of me? If your answer is YES, you are definitely a snob and you should press the close button of the browser and never come back because we certainly don't have anything in common.  If your answer is NO, you are definitely my kind of person and I advise you to stick around because I promise you won't regret it.

P.S. I want to show my public gratitude to some special girls who managed to make my days better: Felicia, Saci, Anamaria, Georgiana, Debb. Because of people like you, blogging will remain an activity worth keep on doing.

Complicated mind

Have you ever wondered why is written on the banner from the upper part of the blog "Story of a simple girl with a complicated mind..."?
The answer is quite simple... because this is how I am. Even in the pictures below I seem peaceful and serene, but my mind is thinking to all sort of stuff.
What stuff? I usually consume my neurons thinking about how to start my own business and how to be my own boss. This is my biggest dream which I hope will became reality one day.

In the mean time, as you can see, I made some visual upgrades to the blog (at least this is how I see them) and I added some items to the Shop page.  I will be happy to receive your feedback on all this.
