29

Today is my birthday and it seems normal to mark it in this diary, with some sincere thoughts.

I have no complex regarding celebrating my 29th anniversary, but I can't help myself to not notice that this is the age before 30. I have one more year to say I'm in my 20's ... afterwards I will be in my 30's.
I always say it's not a big deal to be a year older as long as that year didn't pass through you.
I'm proud of my education, I'm proud of my family, I'm proud of my career, I'm proud of everything I have. That doesn't mean I don't want more. It's in our nature to always want more and I'm not sorry to say that as long as I don't excess. I want to have more adventure in my life, I want to travel more, I want to give more, I want to know more, I want to have my own business, I want to have a little girl, I want to be healthy.
Sounds a bit cliché, doesn't it?

Every year I set myself so many resolutions {I almost do a checklist} ... and some of them get fulfilled and others don't. This year I will proceed differently. I decided to want less and accomplish more. I decided to do more and expect less.
Sounds philosophical,
doesn't it?

Regardless of how I express it, I want to talk to you a year from now and tell you which version was closer to the truth. What do you say? It's OK with you?

Thanks for reading my thoughts during this year. I wish you a 2013 as your heart desires the most.

Happy New Year!

Traditional Romanian Christmas Meal

Christmas has passed, but I couldn't let it leave without doing a demonstration on what a traditional Romanian Christmas meal means.
The meal was held at our wedding godparents home, as every year, and we had a great time.

We exchanged gifts, we talked, we ate and once again we remembered how lucky we are.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas, for me and my family, is a very good opportunity to remember once again how lucky we are.
We have a warm home where we decorated the tree waiting for Santa Claus, we have plenty to eat, we are healthy and above all we have each other and we share the same big love.
I don't think I could ask for more at this time .... Well...actually there is something I could ask for ...
I want everyone from this world to have at least a quarter of what we have.

Merry Christmas!

A little acquisition for the New Year's Eve party & my favorite candy during Christmas
Adi enjoys Christmas so much. With lots of toys and of course some more candy

And here's our Christmas tree...

I'm sure you are all bored by now by Christmas trees posts, but I will ask for your patience to see at least one more.

I'm always sad about not being able to enjoy the Christmas tree as much as I would like. That is why, this year, I decided to decorate it earlier. And here is the result.
It not a natural tree because I'm so against cutting trees. In our country, people usually buy them from the market and you can never know for sure if the person who sells it has an authorization or not. So... I decide to not be an accomplice to such a crime and I stick with my eco tree.
I know it's not the same thing... but if I really want to feel the Christmas tree flavor I will go to the mountains and feel it on live.

P.S. 1. My son was so enthusiastic about the Christmas tree that he kissed all the bulbs. He almost slept by the tree the first night we set it up.
P.S. 2. Since we have our son, during the Christmas holiday, we developed the tradition of watching the Home Alone series. Every time we have such a great laugh.
P.S. 3. Every year we buy at least one new decoration. My oldest decoration is as old as me. Almost 29 years old. Can you believe it?

Bits and pieces + GIVEAWAY WINNER

Can you believe that there are only a few days until the end of the year? I personally, don't.
In a few days, I will be starting a well deserved vacation and I'm very happy because I will have a lot of spare time to spend with my family and relatives.
These last days of 2012 reserve us end-of-year company parties, Christmas spent with our godparents and families, name days, New Year's Eve party and last, but not the least, my birthday, on December 30th.
There's a lot of activity which I will gladly come back to tell you about right here on the blog

The  photos below represent fractions of my daily life and they were taken with Instagram.

Nostalgia

I'm not a fan of this season and I'm not making a secret from it.
The bad weather doesn't prevent me from being creative on outfits regard, but on shootings regard I have a real problem.
In the morning, when I go to work, the weather is rainy or foggy and by evening is already dark.
The solutions I have at my disposal suppose that either the weather looks like in the pictures below, or taking indoor pictures, or move away from Romania, or not doing outfit posts ...
None of the solutions is happy, so I'll leave myself to chance, from this point of view, and hope for the best.

What are your solutions on this matter?

Home made shawarma

I don't know about you, but I'm a very big fan of shawarma.
Many of you may have never heard about it but it's time you did or at least see.

My husband and I prepare it especially when we run out of cooking ideas.

Of course we know it's a very tasty kind of a junk food... but, in our defense, at least we prepare it in our own kitchen and we do it rarely...

Here comes the sun

Meet my dear sister, Mirela. Part of this blog's loyal friends know her from these posts: The challenge - part I, Beautiful sister, Sister's story.
We took these pictures last weekend when, as I'm sure you may have noticed, the weather was great. I will show the pictures with me in a future post.

P.S. If by chance, the boots Mirela is wearing drew your attention, I want you to know that I have an identical pair.

Collections... from magazines to toys

Have you ever collected anything?
I, for example, when I was about 13-14 years I used to collect
BRAVO magazines. I was fascinated by the sex section. : D... it figures...
Later, in college and even after, I started collecting fashion magazines like: Look, Joy, Glamour, Cosmopolitan.

Then, there was the CIAO fever, which is a tabloid magazine. The first day they went online I stopped buying it.
Nowadays priorities have changed, I've changed. I find no reason to buy magazines since the blogging world gives me all the inspiration and information I need. In addition, I prevent cutting trees.
I haven't stopped collecting though. I'm not collecting for myself anymore, but for my 3 years old son.
In case you were lacking some ideas for Christmas gifts, I hope these images help you.

Nothing special

I'm a big fan of walking and I'm so sorry that over the years I realized that I don't do this activity as often as I would like. There are various reasons ... the lack of time, the family car, our son ... but these can't be a permanent excuse. As proof, last weekend I went for a walk with my husband. It was quite cold, but it was worth it. Nothing compares to a breath of fresh air.

P.S. The hat, the scarf and the sweater are my Reserved purchases during the Black Week

Nice to meet you Dana Rogoz

It's no mystery that a big part of my blog traffic is determined by Dana Rogoz's blog. The comments I leave there, bring me a few dozens of curious readers.
For those who do not know, Dana is a girl who worked very hard, since she was a child and came to be one of the most appreciated celebrities in Romania ... a celebrity in the true sense of the word.
When I heard from the news that she was coming to my hometown in order to promote her latest movie - Ho Ho Ho 2: A family
lottery - I was overjoyed and I said to myself I won't meet again soon with such a chance. And I went. Obviously I didn't go alone but with my sister.
Dana is 10 times more delicate and refined as shown on the blog. She is very natural and has a smile and a vision that betray her
sincerity. It was a great pleasure to meet her and I'm sorry that I couldn't stay longer to talk to her. Thanks for giving me the chance to talk even a few words and take a picture with you.
Hope I will see you again, Dana.

To love a man

Do you know what makes me love a man?
Knowing that I can count on him to pick me up when I'm down, knowing that he supports me in everything I do
knowing that he's a great father, knowing that he's a great cook, knowing that he is a partner in marriage with equal rights and obligations as I am, being romantic from once in a while, being a child once in a while, smelling him and having a chill pass on my spine, not seeing him one day and missing him ...
Well... ladies and gentlemen... this is how I feel about my husband...

P.S. I recently joined the Instagram era... in case you want to check out my posts there, zadinblog is my ID.

Black week

Reserved is one of the brands of clothes and accessories that I like the most. I identify very much with the style that they promote.

I appreciate the attention to details and the impeccability of the finished product. On the other hand, the prices they practice reflect these things and are usually pretty steep.

However, this weekend I noticed that they have two incredible offers.

One is 40% discount to handbags, belts and jewelry and is valid from 16.11.2012 - 20.11.2012 (discount applies to the house, to the label price) and the other involves purchasing a one euro voucher to receive 40% discount on the shopping cart, offer valid from 16.11.2012-26.11 .2012.... I told you they were incredible....

I'm certainly going to take advantage of them and I recommend you to do this also.

P.S. this is not a sponsored post.

It's a girl!!!

I often get asked if my husband and I are thinking of having another child.

To be honest, most of the times I really don't know what to answer. Both myself and my husband come from families with siblings. He has 3 sisters and I have a sister ... and yes ... it's normal to want for our child a sister or a brother.

However, our experience as parents, so far, has been a bit of a challenge.

Adi is a very energetic child, stubborn, with a unique personality.
He took his first steps when he was 10 months old, he gave up his pacifier, rather quickly, at 11 months. He began to sleep at least 8 hours a night, after the age of 2.  He gave up the baby bottle at 2 years and a half. He gave up diapers at almost 3 years... Regarding speaking... that's another story. At three years and two months (that's his age now) he is definitely behind schedule. He has a baggage of words but is he far from being a real talker. That's why we do daily exercises and we take speech therapy sessions. So I'm thinking twice before starting over.

Some of those who read this could tell me that things seem pretty normal ... Perhaps this is the case ... Looking back I realize that we have been through many difficult moments, but we overcame them  and we replaced them with the happy moments spent as a family ...

I wish for my son to know what it means the love for a brother/sister, what it means the support from a brother/sister, what it means to share with a brother/sister. I wish for my son to have someone to talk to when he can't talk to me or his dad, I want him to have someone to lean on when his father and I won't be near him.

And to return to the original question ... The answer is YES ... We will endeavor, with God's help, to give our son a brother or a sister.

P.S. I apologize for misleading you with the title.

Obsession...

I have many obsessions in mind ... but one of the strongest is to have my own business. Yes, I know, I've said it before, but it helps me to repeat it once in a while.
What I want the most is to launch my own collection of clothes and then sell it. I'm sure many of you are already saying that I'm predictable, not very original and the market is
probably saturated in this area ... and I will answer that an affordable clothing line with models in the latest trends can't be a failure.
Of course things are more complicated than that and I'm not getting drunk with cold water ... but in my mind, things are becoming clearer each day ....I only have to make up my mind if I'm willing to take the risk of starting this road.
After all there is the possibility of failure ...

P.S. The coat I'm wearing was designed and sewed by my friend who also did the coat from this post. These are coats I would include in the collection I was telling you above.

To iPhone or not to iPhone...

Is having an iPhone today equivalent with being wealthier, with being cooler, with being smarter, with being more fashionable?
Don't answer I already know the answer....
For a few days now, I'm among the users of such a device ... it wasn't an explicit desire to have such a phone, but rather a word in the wind dropped in a key moment ... And I got it. You know what?
I don't feel wealthier, I don't feel cooler, I don't feel smarter nor more fashionable ...
I feel in the spotlight ... But not necessary in a good way.

I'm sure in some countries is commonplace to have an iPhone ... But in our country isn't so. Given that they are quite expensive and require a higher monthly cost, most people can not afford it. In addition, for a simple person is really an unjustifiable expense.

For busy people, working mainly in business, who want to be permanently connected to virtual reality, who need to know wherever and whenever something happens in the world, even while driving, or even at the toilet... is a wonderful gadget. In this context, having an iPhone is almost equivalent to being omniscient and omnipresent ... that means a lot of power and I like it.

Menswear inspiration

These days I'm drawn to the slightly masculine looks.
This attraction is mainly driven by the inexhaustible resource of inspiration called Internet.

This resource revealed last year, about this time, the model of coat that I'm wearing and for which I received several compliments in the previous post. Thank you for your kind words.
The coat still exists on the market and can be found here at a very low price {attention, this is not a sponsored post}.

I personally collaborate very good with a friend of mine who has a creation shop. She implements everything that goes through my mind. She is the one who created the coat starting from the model in the link.

For the record, I rarely buy fall-winter coats from stores. I'm very tall and I have proportionally long arms ... everything I find and I like, is short sleeved on me... so I don't bother anymore and I go directly to my friend to have it done custom.

I wish you all a pleasant November Rain and thank you for reading my thoughts.

P.S. Don't forget about the GIVEAWAY.

Fall colors

We spent today exactly as we enjoy more.
The weather, a little uncertain at first, tried to keep us from leaving the house, but we, the three musketeers, weren't intimidated, so we went for a walk in the park.
I'm not a fan of fall, but I honestly confess that there is no season when the park looks more beautiful, than the fall. Shades of brown, mustard, green combine perfectly resulting an irresistible landscape, a real delight for our retina, so exhausted by too much computer viewing.
Our son, Adi, was as usual in the spotlight and we tried to keep up with him without ignoring our own thirst for fresh air and relaxation. We needed this break to charge our batteries.
I leave you with some photos taken during this going out and I wish you all to have a week full of accomplishments and good things,
only.

Should I be worried?

Raising a 3 years old child {the age of my son} is not one of the easiest things to do on earth. However, there are enough funny moments to make us forget the difficult ones.

One of these funny moments is when he is wearing my shoes or his father's. It's a little strange to see that he hasn't the slightest apprehension even when it comes to wearing shoes with heels, but he is so funny ...

I'm aware that my descriptions are useless, so I let the pictures speak for themselves.

Green

Yesterday I attended with my husband the celebration of a friend's birthday.
The event took place at a restaurant where, while we enjoyed a hearty dinner,
we talked about the recent events from everyone's life, lately. It was a good opportunity to escape the daily routine and feel good for a few hours.
The chance to dress up a bit more elegant than usual, gave me a really good feeling.

This is my inspiration...

The surrounding world is an infinite space ... Our time and resources for discovering it are finite though.
Nevertheless, the thirst and the desire to discover it, can't be appeased.

As much as I know I still don't know enough ... As much as I see I still haven't seen enough ...
I admit that my latest lack of inspiration is somehow unjustified ... The reality is that time always works against me ... and sometimes I manage to win but sometimes I get defeated.
In those times when I win, I look and I
obviously find my inspiration ... in so many places ...
One of these places is Tumblr.
I invite you to see my collection of inspiration on zadin.tumblr.com. Let me know if I managed to tickle a single neuron.

A state of being

It's been a while since I've posted anything, and the main reason I haven't done this activity is AUTUMN. I'm sure you're wondering why, and I tell you that the answer is quite simple. Unfortunately, fall hasn't offered me any touch of inspiration, yet ... It might be true that I haven't been very open to receiving it...
To be honest I still can't find my words ... but maybe it's better this way ... when I will have something important to say, I will surely do it.

P.S. The jeans from the pictures are officially the most worn piece of clothing from my wardrobe,  this autumn.

Love story

Those of you who follow my blog have noticed by now that it doesn't reflect only my vision over fashion, but also the one of my sister.
This is helpful from two points of view:
1. I really do not have that many clothes to show a new outfit every single day.
2. my life is so busy lately that it hasn't been a priority to take outfit photos and do the corresponding posts.
However, I still want to keep this blog, even if I won't be as active as I would like to be.

Thank you for all your supporting words on the Confession post. It meant a lot to me.

P.S. I said in a previous post that my sister was not involved in a relationship.
Meanwhile, Cupid's arrow hit her. She is living a beautiful love story with a former middle school classmate whom she met again after years. The only problem is that he studies and works in California, USA. Obviously they want to be together physically, not just virtually ... but it's so difficult to get a long-term USA visa ... However, they do all kinds of steps to actually get to be together ...

I will keep you posted on how this beautiful love story will evolve.

Fall-winter inspiration

The weather is still warm enough to think it's summer. However, I'm sure the cold weather will come  and therefore I'm searching for the ideal coat and boots to help me overcome it.
In order to complete this post I present you also some combinations that I have found very inspiring for the autumn-winter season. Enjoy!
