1. post qualitative photos. I strongly believe this is the gold rule in blogging. If you don't have a good camera, buy one. There is nothing worse than a blog full of unfocused, bad light photos.
I personally have
a semi-professional camera with two lenses (
18-55mm and
55-200mm). It was a bit expensive, but totally worth it because I got rid of the unfocused photos stress.
2. post interesting photos: no one likes to see pictures of common stuff: plates of unaesthetic food, bags of grocery etc.
3. post decent photos: I've seen photos of hands with dirty nails, I've seen pictures of feet with 3 months nail polish on them (disgusting), I've seen pictures with girls who don't wear bras. It's nothing more interesting than seeing a girl's nipples through her blouse... I'm kidding!
4. use paragraphs when writing your article. Write an idea, leave a spare row, write another idea. Don't write 20 rows, or more, block of text. It's very hard to read such a text and the reader get's annoyed faster. I rarely read such texts.
5. don't overload your blog with useless links and banners. As with outfits, go with simple because you won't go wrong. Christmas tree blogs are a source of stress for the reader's eye and you don't want that.
6. don't post because you have to. Do it whenever you have something interesting to say. Don't worry because you haven't posted for 3 days. This is not a job, this is personal, fun activity and it should remain like that. I hate when I see bloggers excusing themselves for missing a few days. Most of the time readers don't even notice that, so why tell them yourself?
7. use simple, easy to read fonts, not to small and not to big, in appropriate colors.
8. don't sell your soul to the devil. Don't write on demand just to take part in a competition. This is not blogging, it's advertising. I was asked once to write a copy paste article, but I didn't agree. I won't lie my readers and I will not give up on my principles for some easy money.
9. inspire yourself from the BIG bloggers, IT'S FREE!!!
10. don't beg for followers. If you have something interesting to say you will be followed no matter what. I know many bloggers who don't have anything interesting to say, but they have hundreds of followers. How is that possible? If I had a
nickel for every time I was told:
Nice blog! Do you like to follow each other??? Let me know... I would be rich!
Some of my tips are harsh and I'm sorry for that, but it's the TRUTH and I simply can't lie! Hope you find them useful!
